Shell LiveWIRE supports business development in countries where they have operations. The Shell LiveWIRE programme helps young entrepreneurs to start their own business, turning their ideas into sustainable sources of income which helps to create jobs and stimulate local economic growth across the 16 participating countries.

The programme provides business skills training and workshops; business start-up grants and awards; and links entrepreneurs to opportunities in sectors that contribute to the local economy. They also help to facilitate access to finance, incubation, business acceleration, access to markets, technology and mentoring.

Back in April 2015 Nick took off to the USA to consider business opportunities. This trip was partially funded by Shells new initiative ?Let?s go trade?. Nick, as a previous Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year was selected with some other previous winners to put together an entry for the programme. The programme encourages the development of successful UK start-up businesses into international markets.

Nick said "the funding was great timing as we've been looking at working with partners in the US for sometime and the market seems particularly ripe. A third of our enquiries come from the states and similar problems exist to those in the UK so we could have a scalable operation out there in 2016.

This morning, amber energy can now announce that we have been awarded a Merit for our entry in the Shell LiveWire prize for innovation for business.

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who voted for us to get to the shortlist and to the judges for awarding the Merit.

Finally, congratulations to all the other winners in the awards.
