Named the "SSE Green" tariff, it's aimed at supporting businesses in their green house gas emissions.
The new tariff for SSE Business Energy will be provided through it's portfolio of wind and hydro plants. Terry Tippell, SSE's Director of Business said " We are delighted to offer this new contract to business customers as it will allow them to demonstrate their commitment to renewable and sustainable goals, as well as enhancing their environmental reputation and commitment to customers."
The announcement comes as it has been mandatory for FTSE 100 companies to outline their emissions in their annual reports since October 2013. The latest amendments to the legislation have led to carbon management becoming an increasing focus for businesses as part of their wider environmental strategy.
