Our Work > Comm:Unity Billing Platform

Comm:Unity Billing Platform We've built Comm:Unity to allow new buildings, in the main, future proof themselves to the changing culture of social sharing. Sharing a single power point means buying energy in bulk & counting how much each person uses is a powerful way to gift the benefits of economies of scale to the building users.

Comm:Unity has been built to provide a solution to buying energy in community groups but paying for what you individually use.

By arranging to buy the energy from one central point and then sub-metering each individual unit we are able to buy energy at a lower, wholesale, market rate & to pass this benefit on to the individuals.

The project also supports those that do not have time to switch as the contract is fully managed and always competitively tendered. The rates and the tender are shared publicly with the building users so that they know they are always on a competitive rate but the headache is removed.

Building owners benefit by enhancing their relationship with their tenants as they pass on commercial costs of energy.

The project is ideally suited to new builds as it can lower the collective costs of energy by up to 30%.

Comm:Unity Billing Platform

LOWER ENERGY PRICES LOWER ENERGY PRICES

By buying energy from one meter point individual metering charges are avoided and energy can be purchased in bulk at a lower price providing a lower energy contract cost.

FULL BILL MANAGEMENT FULL BILL MANAGEMENT

Individual bills are created by Comm:Unity for the building users and can be accessed via the app making bill management easy.

DESIGNED FOR PRS DESIGNED FOR PRS

With purpose residential of the future in mind Comm:Unity was coined as it allows users to benefit from being part of something much bigger than their individual accommodation & to take advantage of new technology.

SMART METERING SMART METERING

Individual meters are installed into each residential unit that send information on consumption to the central online system. This allows for users to be accurately billed and to accurately manage their energy use.

NO ESTIMATED BILLS NO ESTIMATED BILLS

Users are only charged for what they use which may be preferred when the occupants in the building use it vastly differently; from short tenancy’s to longer term tenants.

PROFIT SHARE PROFIT SHARE

Tenants can share in the profit’s that would otherwise be extracted by the energy supplier in the form of a community fund. This can be used by tenants individually by a voucher scheme or credit against their bill or for a far wider cause.
