The Student Energy Project

A project to encourage students to change their behaviours and reduce energy consumption

TSEP's goal is to become the central point for student and energy. A place where ideas can be exchanged, jobs can be found in the energy sector, internships placed, and energy saved.

Once they have logged in to The Student Energy Project, students can earn reward points for using less energy. Points that can be turned into things they want (often students will save points during the course of the year so they can get something great just before the summer break). The project is all about students & energy; from volunteering to pursuing jobs in energy or learning ways to save energy at home. Our DNA stems from the question asked by students “what’s in it for me”. A few years on and we are working as closely as ever with students on site to work out ‘what makes students tick’ and how we can motivate behaviour change when it comes to student energy use. You can watch a video of us at a launch here.

REWARD STUDENTS REWARD STUDENTS

Built around the question students often ask “what’s in it for me?” TSEP rewards students via aligned student brands or if you prefer a reward specific to your brand/site.

CREATE EMPLOYMENT CREATE EMPLOYMENT

TSEP supports students in starting valuable careers in the energy sector. You can build a stronger CV and apply for jobs in the energy sector online.

ENHANCE YOUR CSR ENHANCE YOUR CSR

Our team train student reps at your site to act as ambassadors for energy saving projects. This could be your site manager or it could be the students themselves.

PROVIDE GREEN EDUCATION PROVIDE GREEN EDUCATION

Lead the way as a responsible landlord by supporting students learning. We provide online courses in energy and our project helps mould the responsible student of the future.

REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Student rewards are paid for by the student energy savings. Save energy and decide how much of this saving should be attributed into the reward pot for students. Win-Win.

SAVE MONEY SAVE MONEY

To break-even in running the scheme you normally have to achieve less than a 1% utilities saving. Anything above break-even is increased profits for your business.
